At some magical point between 1-2 months left until your wedding I think the wedding fairies start sprinkling stress dust on your pillow at night just to make sure you remember everything you didn’t do that day. After your head hits the pillow of course. And because it’s fun to have nightmares about all the worst case scenarios.

Fairies and drama aside, planning a wedding is hard whether you’re in school, already a parent, years into your career, away from your family, or even probably if you’re a Kardashian. (Hand cramps from writing checks with five zeroes.)

I don’t know what experiences you guys have had, but the stationery/wedding invitations/guest list/shower list/Save the Dates list/mailing/stamp buying/addressing/address retrieving has been the most stressful part of planning a wedding (thus far) for me. It should be pretty straightforward, right? You:

  1. Think of someone you want to come to the wedding.
  2. Send them a Save the Date
  3. Use that same address to send them an invitation

Bada bing, bada boom. But it aint that simple, because Johnny Weddinggoer moved, so you have the wrong address for him. A week later when he finally responds, you realize you’re out of stamps. Then you can’t find the same color pen you were using and remember you left half the Save the Dates with your Maid of Honor. On purpose. At this point you realize you actually can’t be trusted with anything but being put in a gown on the big day, so you turn on Netflix and cry while eating Pringles.

I found a stationery savior on Etsy, Ms. McKenzie Smith of Paper Tie Affair. From the stationery I ordered to ask my friends to be in the wedding (see below) to the invitations she above-and-beyond customized for Kent and I, I don’t know what I would have done without her.

Besides having products of the utmost quality, her customer care and service is awesome. I’m not the easiest person to work with…

  • Can you change this light coral to a dark coral?
  • Did you already send me the preview?
  • How much will I owe you again?
  • We’re going to have a photo.
  • No photo.
  • Actually, go ahead and put the photo in.
  • Never mind.

…But she was always very accommodating with whatever requests I had.

Look how precious this is! I wanted something fun but meaningful to give to my bridesmaids, and this “Mean Girls” themed letter with mint envelopes was the perfect fit. Plus McKenzie puts a little handwritten thank you in every purchase! (Even the second purchase…when you’re only ordering one letter…because you may or may not have accidentally switched writing to your bridesmaid with writing to your Maid of Honor)…Bless her soul for being so quick to get a single letter in the mail to me.

As a blogger, with readers I know (and don’t know) and love, I want to be very careful who I vouch for. I have no problem saying that buying from McKenzie is a guaranteed great experience. She will work with you time and time again, email after email, to get your order exactly the way you want it. If you’re looking for stationery you can make completely unique, easy to order, and get the added bonus of working with someone friendly through the whole process, she’s the one you want. My wedding invitations are currently either en route or delivered, and you better believe you’ll be seeing pictures. Girl knows how to get stuff done.
